In early August, artist J.D. McGuire transformed Arts Guild New Jersey’s three-dimensional “ART” sculpture with a bold, colorful mural. J.D. received his M.F.A. in Sculpture at Mason Gross School of the Arts. He is a professor at several NJ colleges, and an instructor at Arts Guild New Jersey.

“Any city can benefit from the installation of Public Art. It becomes a destination or attraction by itself, but it can also direct people to other nearby locations to take advantage of more things that the city has to offer.
The Art Sculpture at Arts Guild New Jersey has gone through a great transformation, thanks to the talents of J.D. McGuire who has been an Arts Guild art instructor for the past few years and relocated to Rahway just a few months ago. He has definitely taken the ART sculptural piece up several notches as a very wonderful work of Art that sings out to visitors and passersby and leaves no question about what they might expect to find at Arts Guild NJ. I think it’s a very welcome addition to the growing Rahway Arts District.”
